Back to the future

One of my all time favorite movies is “Back to the Future”. In the movie, a scientist builds a time machine in a Delorean car that our hero drives and ­unintentionally travels back in time. In this inadvertent adventure, the hero runs into his younger parents and causes their break off. In this Hollywood adventure, our hero manages to mend things between his younger parents before he travels back to his own time period… back to the future.

Though time travel is more fiction than science, a malfunctioning application can still cause havoc in an enterprises’ data if the developer did not account for time travel in his code. To elaborate on this, let me set the stage for a typical scenario that can be occurring as you read these lines.
